To use FetchIt! you need:

• A Windows Mobile 5/6 Pocket PC or Smartphone.

• 16MB RAM.

• 1MB of storage; 4MB or more is recommended.

• A network connection (ActiveSync, Wifi, GPRS, etc.).

• External storage devices and memory cards are supported.

FetchIt! is delivered in Microsoft .CAB (Cabinet) format. The file is 214KB. You can download the software to your Windows desktop computer or directly to your device.

If you have downloaded FetchIt! to your desktop PC, copy it to your device with the following steps:

1. Cradle your Windows Mobile device. Wait for the synchronization operation to complete.

2. Open Microsoft Windows Explorer (Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer) on your desktop computer.

3. Locate and select the FetchIt.CAB file. Choose the Copy command (Windows Explorer > Edit > Copy).

4. Navigate to the Mobile Device branch in the Folders view.

5. Open and select the Temp folder. Choose the Paste command (Windows Explorer > Edit > Paste).

6. Follow the on screen instructions. Accept any prompts.

Once FetchIt! is on your device, use the following steps to install it:

1. Open your file manager application. Most devices use Microsoft File Explorer (Start > Programs > File Explorer). Another common utility is File Manager (Start > File Manager).

2. Locate and select the FetchIt.CAB file. On a Pocket PC device, you need to tap the file. The Smartphone requires you to press the joystick button or use the Open menu option.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Preform the following steps to uninstall FetchIt!:

1. If FetchIt! is running on your device, exit the application.

2. Cradle your Windows Mobile device. Wait for the synchronization operation to complete.

3. Open Microsoft ActiveSync on your desktop computer.

4. Select the Add/Remove Programs option in the Tools menu.

5. Select the NSC FetchIt item in the application list.

6. Click the Remove button.

7. Follow the on-screen instructions.

The following views are included in FetchIt!:

• Guide
  Lets you browse and manage feeds.

• Channel
  Displays number of unread stories and status of bookmarked feeds.

• Headline
  Shows headlines for selected feed.

• Story
  Lets you read or listen to the current story.

How do I?	Do this...
Change views?	Any of these methods work: Move the joystick left or right, Use the menu options (see Menu > View > Go To), or If you are using a Pocket PC, tap the arrow buttons on the Navigation Bar.
Move around?	On a Pocket PC, you can use the stylus to select items and change the position in the list. The Smartphone uses the keypads as follows: and two keys let you skip to different folder positions: * = Move to previous folder, # = Move to the next folder. Of course, you can use the joystick on both types of devices!

Q: Will FetchIt! run on iPhone or Symbian devices?
A: We plan to port FetchIt! to both of these platforms. The software is written in portable C/C++ code.

Q: What does super-threading mean?
A: FetchIt! employs 5 threads for the user interface, 2 for data processing, and another 5 for communications.
